Overview

Leicestershire County Council, trading as ESPO, has awarded a framework agreement for the medium to long-term hire and leasing of specialist vehicles, including internal combustion engine and alternatively fuelled options, divided into nine lots covering refuse collection vehicles, sweepers, winter maintenance vehicles, gully emptiers, buses, tippers, loaders, and other specialist vehicles. The framework, valued at approximately £375 million, was awarded on 1 July 2026 to 33 suppliers including AEBI Schmidt UK Limited, Bunce (Ashbury) Limited, Day's Fleet & Day's Rental, CMS Hire Limited, and others. The procurement is now in delivery.
