Overview

Transport for London awarded a contract to Motorola Solutions UK Limited on 11 December 2025 for £295.87 million to provide hardware and software services for the London Underground digital radio system. Substantive service provision will not commence until November 2029, but the contract has been entered into early to ensure continuity of service and support fair competition for TfL's Networks and Telecommunications Procurement Project. The contract will provide critical support services for the existing LU Radio System beyond the expiry of the current LU Connect contract and will be made available to bidders in the subsequent Lot 2 procurement.
