Overview

Welsh Government has established a framework agreement to deliver the Extending High Speed Broadband project, with grant funding to telecoms suppliers to bridge the cost gap for superfast broadband connections to approximately 29,000 hard-to-reach premises across Wales. The framework, valued at £70 million and divided into two lots based on project size, was awarded on 27 March 2026 to Airband Community Internet Ltd, Fibrus Ltd, Openreach, and Wifinity Ltd, who will deliver superfast connections to premises currently underserved by commercial operators.
