Overview

Renfrewshire Council awarded construction works worth £34.7 million to Farrans Construction (trading as Northstone (NI) Limited) on 13 August 2025 for the Advanced Manufacturing and Innovation District Scotland South project. The scope comprises upgrade and widening of approximately 1.7 km of existing road with new infrastructure on the North to South route, upgrade of existing retaining walls on the White Cart Water east bank, construction of a new 93-meter steel arch bridge over the White Cart Water, and construction of a new 550-meter offline road on the East to West route to improve connectivity between Paisley town centre, AMIDS, Glasgow Airport, and neighbouring communities.
