Overview

The Ministry of Defence procured the Defence Equipment Engineering Asset Management System (DEEAMS) to deliver a pan-Defence engineering through-life support solution using commercial off-the-shelf products, replacing legacy systems including JAMES, UMMS, GOLDesp and 20+ discrete applications. The contract, valued at approximately £12.4 billion, was awarded to IBM United Kingdom Limited in September 2025 and covers support management for major Defence assets including aircraft, vehicles, ships and over 200,000 equipment types. The service is currently in active delivery as part of the broader Business Modernisation for Support transformational programme.
