Overview

The Home Office has awarded a contract to Etherstack Wireless Limited for a TETRA/MCX Interworking Gateway solution valued at £14.2 million to support the transition from Airwave to the Emergency Services Network (ESN). The gateway will enable approximately 300,000 emergency services users across 107 organisations to maintain communications between migrated ESN users and those still on Airwave by linking 6,000 busiest Airwave talk groups to their ESN equivalents. The solution will be deployed on servers hosted by the ESN User Services Supplier, with Etherstack providing third-line support and the host supplier responsible for service integration and maintenance.
