There has been a step change in cyber security initiated by central government, and endorsed by ministers, in response to government's critical lack of cyber resilience and growing threat from hostile nation states seeking to target HMG systems and undermine British democracy. The department must manage delivery of this transformation within the existing funding envelope and resource constraints.
