Overview

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Authority (the Authority) are undertaking several procurements to replace Breathing Apparatus (BA) kit (BA Replacement Project). The Authority have already completed the procurement of the masks and cylinders (previous project HF27106) and have now identified that the introduction of wired radio communications will significantly contribute to a more robust and resilient breathing apparatus radio communications connectivity. Additionally, there are requirements on the Authority as a Service to be compliant with the latest set of recommendations from the Grenfell Tower Inquiry phase 2 report, referencing radio communications on the fireground and in BA operations. This project will ensure our compliance with these requirements.
