Direct Award - Software renewal for Core Finance System

The University of Plymouth has directly awarded a contract worth £1,486,500 to Unit4 Business Software Limited on 16 June 2026 for renewal of its Core Finance System, comprising the Unit4 Enterprise Resource Planning solution with associated modules for financial management functions including budget management, expenses, source to contract, sales to cash, general ledger reporting and commitment accounting, plus support and maintenance. The direct award was justified under the Procurement Act 2023 due to Unit4's exclusive intellectual property rights and the incompatibility risks of changing suppliers for this business-critical system.
