IT2387 National Database WW1 Service Tribunals (Closed)

Wiltshire Council, on behalf of a collaborative project led by the Wiltshire and Swindon History Centre and funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, engaged HJS Heritage for £36,000 to deliver a Project Lead role over 104 days across 24 months. The project creates a national database extracting key data from World War One Military Appeal Tribunal records across fifteen archive services in England and Wales, capturing names, ages, occupations, employers, appeal grounds, and tribunal decisions from conscription exemption applications made under the Military Service Act 1916.
