Overview

JNCC commissioned the National Oceanography Centre to hire a deep-sea HD drop camera system with associated lighting and scientific personnel for the DY200 survey to the Canyons Marine Conservation Zone aboard RRS Discovery from 23 September to 12 October 2025. The scope includes camera operation, collection of seabed imagery and video data for condition monitoring of coral features, and delivery of processed data with MEDIN-compliant metadata and GIS shapefiles.
