Delivering Adult Social Care in the South West - Challenges and Solutions

The Improvement and Development Agency commissioned an evidence base analysis of adult social care in the Southwest region covering 15 councils, examining factors influencing service delivery including demographics, economy, rurality, and health impacts. Oxford Brookes University's Institute of Public Care was awarded £42,925 on 9 July 2025 to produce a final report analyzing regional strategic differences, demographic and economic pressures, and recommendations for improving service quality and sustainability. The work aimed to support regional and national consensus building for social care investment and service improvement in response to changing demand and financial pressures.
