Call for Tender for the Provision of Services to Assess Potential Health Benefits of Polar Lipids Sourced from Under-Utilised Pelagic Fish Species and Co-Products

Bord Iascaigh Mhara (Irish Sea Fisheries Board) is seeking services to assess the health benefits of polar lipids extracted from under-utilised pelagic fish species and seafood co-products. The work scope includes scaling up extraction methods from species with the highest polar lipid concentration, encapsulating the lipids, and conducting a post-prandial human trial to evaluate effectiveness against platelet aggregation and anti-inflammatory properties on neurological cells. The estimated value is €90,000 with a submission deadline of 28 August 2026.
