Overview

Nottingham City Council is establishing an open framework for the provision of alternative education services across three lots: SEND & Specialist Education, Crisis & Stabilisation, and Core Education, Post-16 & Long-Term AP. The framework will appoint multiple independent education providers and suppliers, with call-off contracts to be awarded subsequently; the framework term runs up to eight years maximum from April 2027, with provisions for re-opening to new suppliers as needed.

    Rapid response - provision commencing within 10 working days of referral ▸ Intensive, stabilising intervention for children whose placement at mainstream school is at imminent risk or they are unable to engage with their current offer ▸ Year 11 at risk of not completing education and becoming Not in Education Employment or Training (NEET) ▸ Written Placement Plan including onward pathway within 10 working days ▸ Trauma-informed, relational approaches at the core of delivery
