Overview

Historic England is establishing a multi-supplier consultancy framework to provide specialist advice on paints and coatings technology for historic buildings, supporting statutory casework and research activity. The framework will deliver expert guidance on selection, specification, performance and conservation of paint and coating systems across various historic substrates including timber, lime-based plasters, stone, brick, metals and concrete. Consultants with proven experience in paints and coatings on historic fabric and backgrounds in chemistry, materials science or building conservation are invited to join; commissions will be awarded through call-off or mini-competition based on expertise, price and availability.
