Rheinunternehmen awarded a contract to Basler & Hofmann AG, HOLINGER AG, and IUB Engineering AG on 25 June 2026 for CHF 1,133,331 to plan flood protection dam rehabilitation on the Alpine Rhine between Sevelen and Buchs (km 43.335–50.400), covering approximately 7 km divided into four sections. The scope includes detailed design at project stage, permit-ready construction and regulatory project documentation for each section, environmental impact assessment, and coordination with cantonal, federal, and third-party stakeholders to ensure safety compliance against current technical standards including seismic and erosion criteria.
