Im Bahnhof Kassel Hbf und Kassel Rbf ist die Stellwerkstechnik abgängig und daher im Zuge dieses Vorhabens auf ESTW-Standard umzurüsten. Dabei wird eine reine 1:1-Erneuerung der leit- und sicherungstechnischen Anlagen durchgeführt. Durch die Rationalisierung der Infrastruktur durch ESTW-Technik ergeben sich resultierende, notwendige Maßnahmen durch den Wegfall der örtlichen Bedienung.
