Rijksvastgoedbedrijf has awarded BINX Smartility B.V. a design and build contract worth €85.9 million for large-scale renovation, new construction, and comprehensive management of the Rijks Justitiële Jeugdinrichting Den Hey-Acker juvenile detention facility in Breda. The scope includes renovating and expanding the facility from approximately 13,300 m² to 17,500 m², with 2,000 m² of demolition, a 62-month execution period plus 12-month aftercare phase, and integrated facility management through 31 December 2032 with optional two-year extensions, while maintaining operational continuity throughout the works.
