Technical Assistance to the Commission for the assessment of harmonised standards

The European Commission, DG GROW, awarded Ernst & Young Consulting a contract worth 1,039,600 EUR to provide technical and administrative assistance for the Harmonised Standards (HAS) Consultants system. The contractor will recruit and coordinate independent HAS Consultants, conduct non-technical verifications of draft and final harmonised standards developed by CEN, CENELEC and ETSI, and deliver training to ensure compliance with Commission standardisation requests and EU harmonisation legislation. The service, starting 1 August 2026, supports the Commission's legal obligations under Regulation (EU) No 1025/2012 and ensures legal certainty for market actors across harmonised standards covering digital, green and safety-critical technologies.
