Die Stadt Monheim am Rhein, eine mittlere kreisangehörige Stadt im Kreis Mettmann mit ca. 43.000 Einwohnern, plant den Neubau des Abwasserpumpwerks (APW) Holzweg im Stadtteil Baumberg. Hierzu wurde eine Bestandsaufnahme und Bedarfsplanung vom Ingenieurbüro Achten und Jansen GmbH zusammen mit einer Aktualisierung des Generalentwässerungsplan für das betreffende Einzugsgebiet durchgeführt. Die technisch am sinnvollsten und wirtschaftliche Variante ist der Neubau der Abwasserpumpstation mit einer Regenwasserrückhaltung.
