Die Zentralkläranlage (ZKA) Schwalmtal-Amern mit einer Ausbaugröße von 38.000 EW (Stand 2018) wird von den Schwalmtalwerken betrieben. Sie liegt im Nordwesten des Ortsteils Amern in der Gemeinde Schwalmtal. Die ZKA wurde im Jahr 1974 erstmalig in Betrieb genommen und zwischenzeitlich mehrfach saniert und erweitert, letztmalig im Jahr 2015. Zur weiteren Ertüchtigung der Kläranlage soll eine 4. Reinigungsstufe errichtet werden. Für die Durchfüh-rung der Planungsleistung suchen die Schwalmtalwerke einen geeigneten Generalplaner.
