Die MVV Grüne Wärme GmbH (Tochterunternehmen der MVV Energie AG) (MVV) plant am Standort der Grosskraftwerk Mannheim AG (GKM) in Mannheim-Neckarau die Errichtung und den Betrieb einer Flusswasser-Wärmepumpenanlage (WPA2) mit einer Heizleistung von ca. 150 MWth, verteilt auf 2 bis 6 Module. Zur elektrischen Versorgung der Anlage werden zwei 110/10,5-kV Leistungstransformatoren mit je 63 MVA benötigt.
