El proyecto consiste en definir la solución para dotar de saneamiento y recoger los actuales vertidos al medio receptor de varios núcleos de población pertenecientes al Concejo de Gozón: Bañugues, Heres y una parte de Luanco. Una vez recogidos, estos vertidos se transportan hasta el colector-interceptor que, partiendo desde el puerto de Luanco, atraviesa Gozón de Este a Oeste hasta la EDAR de Maqua en el margen derecho de la ría de Avilés.
