Der Forschungsneubau steht als eigenständiger Baukörper mit amorpher Bauform und 4 Obergeschossen auf dem neu erschlossenem Forschungscampus Marienwerder. Das Gebäude ist nicht unterkellert, sondern wird im Erdgeschoss teilweise in eine Erdhügellandschaft integriert.
