Overview
Zwischen Fulda und Gerstungen soll im Zuge des Bahnprojekt ABS/ABS Fulda-
Gerstungen ein neuer Streckenabschnitt entstehen. Im Bereich der Stadt Bad Hersfeld
wird dieser auf die Bestandsstrecke Fulda-Bebra treffen.
Mit dem Bahnprojekt lassen sich die schnellen Züge des Fernverkehrs von den
langsameren des Nah- und Güterverkehrs trennen und somit Reisezeiten verkürzen. Das
Projekt ist ein weiterer Schritt in Richtung des Deutschlandtaktes.
