Overview

Collate the necessary environmental knowledge basis to identify new candidate areas for marine protection in Norwegian ocean areas that can contribute to the follow-up of the global goal in the natural agreement. The main focus shall be on areas that are not covered by the marine protection plan from 2004 (phase 1). Emphasis shall be put on areas that are particularly important for natural diversity and ecosystem functions and services in accordance with Goal 3 in the nature agreement, as well as contribute to representative and ecologically connected networks.
