The City of Solingen awarded a framework contract on 5 May 2026 for the supply of price-regulated teaching materials under the Learning Materials Regulation for the period 1 June 2026 to 31 May 2028, with an option for two additional years. Six suppliers—Bergische Buchhandlung R. Schmitz UG, Braumann+Schmidt GmbH, Buch Kutzer e.K., Buchhandlung Kiekenap GmbH, RS Gesellschaft für Informationstechnik mbH & Co. KG - Bergische Fachbuchhandlung, and Reinhold Schulausstattung e.K.—were each allocated one lot with an estimated annual volume of approximately 160,000 EUR per lot (minimum 50,000 EUR, maximum 250,000 EUR), totalling 800,000 EUR annually for Solingen schools.
