The Federal Administrative Office (BVA) awarded contracts for the manufacture and supply of 2-euro coin blanks across two lots, with Freiberger Eurometall GmbH and Monea Coin Technology s.r.o. as winners as of May 28, 2026. Lot 1 comprises a minimum quantity of 33.3 million pieces for 2027 plus options up to 145.8 million pieces for 2028–2029, delivered to mints in Munich, Stuttgart, and Hamburg; Lot 2 comprises 17.1 million pieces minimum for 2027 plus options up to 75 million pieces for 2028–2029, delivered to mints in Berlin and Karlsruhe.
