Overview
La fuente neutrónica de Cf-252 es necesaria para satisfacer las recomendaciones de la norma ISO 8529-1 que establece las características de las fuentes neutrónicas empleadas en la calibración.
Esta fuente permitirá mantener los servicios técnicos que actualmente ofrece el Laboratorio de Patrones Neutrónicos del LMRI, de calibración de monitores de área y calibración y asignación de dosis de dosímetros personales. Además, esta fuente de Cf-252 proporciona un campo neutrónico ISO que al estar perfectamente caracterizado, permite la irradiación de equipos, detectores y otros materiales de interés.
