HYDPY OH-MEW - HydPy Obere Havel mit Müritz-Elde-Wasserstraße Wasserhaushalts- und Bewirtschaftungsmodellierung, 1D-hydraulische Modellierung & Szenarienrechnungen

Bundesanstalt für Gewässerkunde awarded Björnsen Beratende Ingenieure GmbH on 1 July 2026 to develop and enhance the HydPy hydrological and water management model for the Upper Havel region with Müritz-Elde waterway, including conversion from LARSIM, integration of 1D hydraulic modelling across approximately 600 km of waterways, and execution of scenario calculations under changing climate conditions and water management practices. The four main tasks comprise model conversion, model enhancement with hydraulic flow representation and water user prioritization, calibration and validation against observational data, and scenario modelling to evaluate combined water use and management measures with and without climate change impacts.
