The City of Grevenbroich awarded a master planning contract to BahnStadt Planungsgesellschaft für Bahnhofsentwicklung mbH on 8 May 2026 for redesigning the railway station surroundings in Grevenbroich (stage 1). The scope encompasses general planning services across multiple HOAI performance categories for design phases 1–4, focusing on restructuring the station forecourt, integrating the Von-Goldammer-Straße as a traffic-calmed zone, modernizing the bus station hub, and optimizing cycling, pedestrian, and parking facilities. The redesign is based on a framework plan adopted by the city council on 3 July 2025 to enhance traffic connectivity, urban design quality, and public space experience.
