WSA Westdeutsche Kanäle awarded the construction of a new mooring facility and associated areas on the Münster city section of the canal at DEK-km 67,390–67,720, including sheet pile walls, a transshipment facility, soil stabilization, and connection of a water intake structure. Johann Bunte Bauunternehmung SE & Co. KG was awarded the contract on 4 May 2026 for €12,626,219, exceeding the estimated value of €10,530,000. The work comprises removal of existing surfaces, ground preparation, installation of approximately 6,742 m² of sheet piling, dredging, soil replacement, concrete construction, and completion of a new handling facility with associated infrastructure.
