Mestna občina Velenje has awarded a contract to ESOTECH, družba za razvoj in izvajanje ekoloških in energetskih projektov, d.d. for 4,446,790.77 EUR on 25 May 2026 to modernise the district heating system in the Šaleška valley's first phase. The scope includes renovation of six thermal transfer stations, installation of 42 internal thermal substations across multiple buildings, and replacement of approximately 1,684 metres of secondary piping network across six service areas, encompassing civil, mechanical and electrical works.
