Der zu ersetzende 2015 in Betrieb genommene 2-Ebenen-Herzkathertermessplatz wird derzeit zu 80% für elektrophysiologische Untersuchungen und Therapien, zu 20% für weitere Eingriffe, usw. genutzt. Neben dem mechanischen Verschleiß entsprechen die monovaskuläre (ausschließlich Koronardiagnostik) Funktionalität, die Bildqualität, das Dosismanagement sowie die Datnverarbeitung nicht mehr der heutigen Erfordernissen. Ein Umzug der Anlage in das sich im Bau befindliche und voraussichtlich Anfang 2027 in Betrieb genommene Herzzentrum stellt zusätzlich keine wirtschaftlich Lösung dar.
