The Swiss Federal Office for Buildings and Logistics (BBL) has awarded a contract to European Dynamics Bietergemeinschaft for maintenance, support, and further development of the GIN application through 2025 and beyond. GIN is an open-source federal platform that collects and visualizes real-time measurement and observation data from around 90 metrics across over 1,000 weather, water, and snow monitoring stations operated by federal and cantonal agencies, serving approximately 3,500 registered users in natural hazard management with 99.9% availability requirements. The awarded contract, valued at CHF 4,250,924, encompasses ongoing support, system maintenance, application enhancement including mobile optimization, and integration of new data sources.
