Bestandteil der Strahlentherapieanlage des Ionentherapiezentrums MedAustron ist ein Philips MRT-System, dessen Spulen und Magneten in ihrer technischen, thermischen und mechanischen Charakteristik spezifisch auf die Systemarchitektur des Ionentherapiezentrums MedAustron abgestimmt sind. Das bestehende Philips MRT-System soll unter Beibehaltung der wesentlichen Systemkomponenten sowie ohne Umbaumaßnahmen an den Betriebsräumen auf die neueste Generation aufgerüstet werden.
