Provision of an airborne geophysical survey of the Rift Valley Basin in Ethiopia

Aarhus University has awarded a contract to Xcalibur Multiphysics South Africa for an airborne geophysical survey of the Rift Valley Basin in Ethiopia using helicopter-based transient electromagnetic and magnetic instruments to map hydrogeological structures. The survey, conducted in partnership with Ethiopia's Ministry of Water and Energy and Addis Ababa University, requires collection of high-resolution data capable of imaging subsurface layers down to 500 meters depth, with delivery of processed data meeting strict technical and safety specifications. The contract, valued at 5,000,000 DKK, was awarded on 1 May 2026.
