FE 04.0347/2022/CGB - Bestimmung der Präzision des Seitenkraftmessverfahrens (SKM) vor dem Hintergrund der nationalen und europäischen Normung

The Federal Road Research Institute (BASt) awarded a research contract to Silentex GmbH for 291,400 EUR (completed May 2026) to determine the precision of the Sideways-force Coefficient Method (SKM) for measuring road surface friction in Germany, accounting for technical optimizations and developments since the last precision study in 2006. The research will assess precision for current measurement technologies, including improved quality assurance processes and actual vertical force measurement, and will inform updates to national and European technical standards to enhance road safety.
