- Published 5 May 2025
Overview
The objective of this project is to extend the SSI (Solid State Interlocking) room at Limerick Junction to accommodate the additional equipment required for the new Foynes Line. This extension is necessary to ensure there is sufficient space to house the advanced signaling and control equipment needed for the effective operation of the Foynes Line. By expanding the SSI room, we aim to future-proof the facility, enhance its operational capacity, and support the overall infrastructure upgrades associated with the reopening of the Foynes Line
