Untersuchung von Unfällen am Beginn von Arbeitsstellen und Möglichkeiten der Minderung der Unfallschwere beim Anprall durch Nutzung von TMA

The German Federal Road Research Institute (BASt) awarded a contract to DTV Verkehrsconsult GmbH, Fraunhofer Gesellschaft zur Förderung der angewandten Forschung e.V., and Fraunhofer IVI for 672,258 EUR to investigate accidents at short-term work zones on motorways and evaluate the effectiveness of truck-mounted attenuators (TMAs) in reducing collision severity with heavy goods vehicles. The research aims to develop evidence-based deployment criteria for TMAs in German work zone scenarios and inform updates to road safety guidelines (RSA 21) to enhance safety for workers and road users.
