Projektversicherung für die Elektrifizierung der Taunusbahn

The Verkehrsverband Hochtaunus (VHT) procured project insurance for the electrification of the Taunusbahn railway line, a 37 km single-track line between Friedrichsdorf and Brandoberndorf, with the initial 18 km section from Friedrichsdorf to Usingen scheduled for electrification by 31 December 2029 at an estimated construction cost of EUR 145 million. The scope includes liability insurance with a coverage limit of EUR 20 million per claim and design liability insurance with EUR 10 million per claim, along with extended maintenance coverage and tail liability of up to 10 years. The contract was awarded on 7 April 2026 to eight insurers including Bayerischer Versicherungsverband, Berkshire Hathaway European Insurance, ERGO Versicherung AG, Provinzial Versicherung AG, SMA SA, SV Sparkassenversicherung, VHV Allgemeine Versicherung AG, and XL Insurance Company SE for a total value of EUR 370,637.40.
