Die Hanse- und Universitätsstadt Rostock lässt auf einem Areal im Stadtzentrum von Rostock, östlich des Neues Marktes eine Rathauserweiterung errichten.
Diese Rathauserweiterung erfolgt auf zwei Baufeldern.
Auf dem Baufeld 5 wird nach historischem Vorbild ein „Doppelgiebelhaus“ errichtet, welches eine direkte Verlängerung des Rathausnordflügels sein wird (Haus C).
Das Baufeld 4, welches später städtische Ämter beherbergen wird, nimmt zu ca. 80% einen vollständigen Quartiersblock ein, der durch die Kleine Wasserstraße im Osten, die Fischbank im Norden sowie die Bebauung an der Große Scharrenstraße im Süden begrenzt wird (Haus D).
