The Finnish Food Authority (Ruokavirasto) has awarded a contract to Honkajoki Oy for the collection, transport, and treatment of carcasses of animals that died or were culled due to class A, B, or C diseases, other notifiable diseases, or new animal diseases, including wild animals. The contract, valued at €4,000,000 and awarded on 6 May 2026, was procured through a restricted negotiation procedure and covers services for disease control operations conducted under official authority.
