Overview
Binnen de afdeling Radiotherapie van Amsterdam UMC bestaat de sectie hyperthermie. De sectie hyperthermie verricht uitgebreid preklinisch, klinisch en technisch onderzoek naar hyperthermiebehandelingen en voert deze ook uit. Daarnaast is zij betrokken bij de ontwikkelingen van benodigde (rand)apparatuur, planningssoftware, behandelprotocollen en kwaliteitsnormen, waarmee de afdeling hyperthermie een toonaangevende rol speelt in de verdere professionalisering van deze behandelvorm.
Ter vervanging van twee huidige behandelsystemen is Amsterdam UMC voornemens om twee (gekoppelde) oppervlakkige hyperthermie systemen, inclusief de bijbehorende planningssoftware, aan te schaffen. 2
