The City of Karlsruhe (Tiefbauamt) has completed the redesign of the intersections at Kriegsstraße/Reinhold-Frank-Straße/Brauerstraße and Brauerstraße/Gartenstraße, awarded to the joint venture Johann Joos Tief- und Straßenbauunternehmung GmbH & Co. KG and Diringer & Scheidel Bauunternehmung GmbH & Co. KG for €10,961,217.26. The scope included comprehensive reconstruction of roadways, sidewalks, and cycle paths; renewal of traffic signals, drainage systems, and utility infrastructure (water, gas, district heating, electricity); complete replacement of tram tracks including fixed-track systems with new overhead lines; removal of three traffic islands to improve pedestrian and cycling access; and installation of new tree planting areas by the horticultural department.
