MÁV Pályaműködtetési has awarded a contract for design, environmental impact assessment, and permitting documentation for the Budapest-Nyugati railway yard II. shunting centre expansion, including installation of a new second parallel track line with associated signalling, telecommunications, and power infrastructure. The contract, valued at 1,281,000,000 HUF, was awarded on 28 April 2026 to a consortium of four engineering firms: FŐMTERV Mérnöki Tervező Zrt., Infraplan Vasút- és Úttervező Zrt., Ring Mérnöki Iroda Kft., and TRENECON Tanácsadó és Tervező Kft.
