Municipiul Craiova awarded a contract for the execution of infrastructure works to close a traffic ring in the southern zone of Craiova, including the encasing of an open drainage canal, modernization of Râului Street with DN56-DN55 breakthrough and connection to Aleea 2 Bechet. The contract, valued at 149,077,584.16 RON, was awarded on 14 July 2026 to a consortium comprising EQUIVIA CIVIC S.R.L., EUSKADI, MITLIV PH CONSTRUCT S.R.L., and OMEGA STAR SISTEMS SRL. The project aims to improve urban traffic flow, reduce transit congestion, and enhance public health by redirecting the open waterway to agricultural areas outside the city limits.
