Modernisierung und Erweiterung bestehender Mechanisch-Biologischen-Abfallbehandlungsanlage zu einer Bioabfall-Vollstromvergärungsanlage

Ensorgungsgesellschaft Westmünsterland mbH has awarded a contract to modernize and expand its existing mechanical-biological waste treatment plant in Gescher into a biogas digestion facility. The awarded contract, valued at €19.86 million and won by BiGe STRABAG Umwelttechnik GmbH with partners Börgel GmbH & Co. KG and Eggersmann Anlagenbau GmbH (awarded June 1, 2026), covers fermentation technology, conveyor systems, and digestate storage containers to process approximately 105,000 tons of biowaste annually into biogas for renewable energy generation and upgrading to biomethane for injection into the public gas grid.
