The National Autonomous Authority for Nuclear Energy Technology (REGIA AUTONOMA TEHNOLOGII PENTRU ENERGIA NUCLEARA) has awarded a contract for equipment installation for the Meltin'Pot facility, split across six lots, valued at 7,013,796.58 RON to a consortium comprising Isotope Technologies Dresden GmbH, NITECH, NanoSystems MC, and VERDER ROMANIA S.R.L. The equipment will support research and experimental infrastructure for demonstrating fast lead-cooled reactor technology under the 4ALFRED project, with experiments and investigations focused on MOX nuclear fuel interaction with molten lead, fuel redistribution under extended cladding failure conditions, fission product retention in lead, and polonium isotope behavior.
