Overview
Aarhus Universitet (AU FOOD) has procured an upgrade of its existing TimsTof Pro mass spectrometer to a TimsTof HT system from Bruker Nordic AB, awarded on 8 May 2026 for 2,000,000 DKK. The upgrade will enhance proteomics analysis for alternative protein research by providing higher throughput (~300 Hz PASEF), increased ion capacity, improved quantitative dynamic range via Advanced Digitizer Technology, and reduced sample run time from 30–60 minutes to 5–30 minutes, enabling analysis of over 50 samples per day compared to the current 10. The new system offers improved reproducibility (>2× improvement), better dia-PASEF performance, and updated software (TIMScore, TIMS DIA NN, ProteoScape), with installation and warranty provided by Bruker-certified technicians.
